Luther B Adair, II, MD is a board certified diagnostic radiologist with subspecialty training in abdominal radiology. Dr. Adair is a partner in a private practice radiology group based in Fort Wayne Indiana; however, he practices via teleradiology from his home office in Las Vegas. As a member of the Summit Radiology group, Dr. Adair promotes dose reduction and the utilization of advanced imaging techniques to view specific body regions. He is responsible for interpreting X-rays, ultrasounds, CTs, nuclear medicine scans, and MRIs for hospitals in the Midwest and New England.
Dr. Adair graduated from Morehouse College with a B.S. in Psychology and later returned to his hometown of Nashville, TN to attend Meharry Medical College. Upon graduation from Meharry, Dr. Adair completed his postgraduate training at the Cambridge Hospital and Harvard Medical School for Internship, completed his radiology residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York, and completed his subspecialty fellowship in abdominal imaging at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In addition to medicine, Dr. Adair is a strong advocate of education and has a passion for technology. He is the CEO of Viewbox Holdings, LLC, which was one of the first companies to release an iPad application for reviewing radiology images. Viewbox also released a children’s book in order to highlight the role of radiology in assessing pediatric illnesses. This book, called Learning about X-rays with Lula and Ethan, can be found in the iTunes store or the Amazon bookstore. Through the Viewbox Holdings’ consulting branch, Dr. Adair has also had an opportunity to advise various companies in Silicon Valley by creating applications for radiology utilizing artificial intelligence (machine learning).
Dr. Adair is also a published medical writer, a recipient of several honors and awards, and has participated in several research projects. Above all else, Dr. Adair has a passion for mentoring and philanthropy. Recently, he and his wife, Rachael, started the Adair Family Foundation to help support organizations which foster early STEM development in education.
